Metro at Dubai International Airport

At DXB, travellers have two metro stations at their disposal, which are available at the 1st and the 3d Terminal. Here is the schedule:

  • Dubai Airport metro timings from Saturday to Wednesday are 5:00 am - 00:00 am.
  • On Thursday, the working hours change to 5:00 am - 1:00 am.
  • On Sunday, the tube operates from 8:00 am to 00:00 am.

The train arrives every 5-7 minutes, and the road from DXB to the city centre takes no more than half an hour.

Paying for the service is impossible with cash, so obtain a Nol Card in advance. It is a contactless smart card that you can use for every kind of transport belonging to the Roads & Transport Authority system. Children under five can transfer for free, while the residents can use some discounts.

Dubai metro ticket to & from the airport

Below you can see detailed info about the ticket options.

Red tickets

Before travelling by metro from Dubai Airport to any other destination, consider obtaining a red ticket. It is valid for almost three months (90 days) and includes up to 4 daily passes and no less than ten rides. You can obtain a ticket at the office or any ticket vending machine for only AED 2 ($0.27).

Silver Nol Card

The pluses of the Silver Nol Card include the ability to use it at all RTA public transport units, including ferries and taxis. You can use the card for five years, which is perfect if you take a trip to the city frequently. Obtaining it is possible in offices or ticket vending machines at AED 25 ($6.81).

Gold Nol Card

If you wish to access premium class cabins in trams and Dubai International Airport metro trains, then choose Gold Nol Card. It is valid for five years and grants less crowded space, more legroom, and more comfort in general. Get the Gold Nol Card in offices or ticket vending machines at AED 25 ($6.81).

Blue Nol Card

The personalised card might suit you if you are a Dubai resident or travel to the city frequently. It allows you to access Standard Class carriages, provides secure online services for top-up credit, and works for most RTA modes of transportation. Obtain Blue Nol Card in the office or any ticket vending machine at AED 70 ($19.06). Be ready to present an Identity Card and a photo.

Metro station near Dubai Airport Terminal 3:

The Airport Terminal 3 Metro Station is on the Red Line, allowing passengers to depart from and arrive at the DXB through the Dubai Metro system. Find the station near the T3 building and reach it through a walkway.
